This piece is an original ink drawing from my book "Hokkaido in Ink" published digitally in 2020.
From the book:
In open-air museums like this one, I especially like to visit all the old stores with their beautiful fronts and recreated insides. They allow me to feel and imagine just a little of the past everyday life of the city. I picture the shops at dusk, with their windows glowing and people just going after their daily business. A story is waiting to be found here.

To consider:
Please remember that the image, when it appeared in the book, was heavily digitally edited end corrected (added blacker lines, color correction, etc.) - this original piece has none of those corrections.
The "Hokkaido in Ink" pieces were drawn with red underdrawing which was digitally erased for the book but is still visible in this original piece. Please see the photos.
